Patreon Update: June 2017

Welcome to my Patreon Update for June 2017. This is the monthly report for my Patreon campaign and how it's performing, as well as my chance to thank everyone for their ongoing support. Let's get started with last month's earnings. Below you can see my transparency report regarding all the pledges that were received and processed for May.

May 2017 Earnings

Continuing with last month's trend, numbers are slightly down — but not by much. This is perfectly normal for mid-year earnings. As usual, below are specifics:

  • Pledged: $3,437.00
  • Service Fees: $394.24
  • Processed: $3,042.76
Pledge amounts shown for the current month are not final.

Updates

I think it's only appropriate to start things off by congratulating Patreon on their redesign. As you may have noticed, Patreon.com has recently undergone some significant changes — with not only some improvements to the design of their website, but their branding overall. They've introduced some interesting new features that could prove to be quite beneficial for creators and patrons alike. You can read all the details on Patreon's blog.

Focusing on my Patreon campaign specifically, how are things going? To put simply, everything seems to be on track. Earnings are consistently higher than this time last year, exclusive content continues to be delivered weekly, and patrons overall seem happy. And come on, if my patrons are happy, then I'm happy. It means I'm doing something right.

Summer is typically a slow time of the year for my Patreon campaign, but that doesn't mean the perks have to stop. Similar to what I did last year, I am excited to announce that my upcoming "Seaside Heights 2017" series will be available to $5+ patrons first — at least a few days before it goes live to the public. Early access to content is something that seems to work well in everyone's favor, so I am looking to explore this more frequently.

And finally, I have to give a big shout-out to those who joined this month's Google Hangout. We had a great time talking about all sorts of things. The stream didn't wrap up until 7 AM the next day. But then again, isn't that how it always goes? To view all past Hangouts, simply click here.

Patreon Update: May 2017

Welcome to my Patreon Update for May 2017. This is the monthly report for my Patreon campaign and how it's performing, as well as my chance to thank everyone for their ongoing support. Let's get started with last month's earnings. Below you can see my transparency report regarding all the pledges that were received and processed for April.

April 2017 Earnings

Numbers are slightly down, but that's nothing new considering what time of the year it is. Regardless, I continue to be quite happy with how things are going. Just check out these earnings:

  • Pledged: $3,517.00
  • Service Fees: $404.63
  • Processed: $3,112.37

Updates

It may be a slow time of the year for growth, but that doesn't mean my Patreon campaign is doing poorly. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Despite the slight drop in overall earnings, I continue to make patrons' pledges more than worth it. With a new exclusive vlog released every Friday, as well as the opportunity to present patrons' links in the Patrons Showcase, my rewards continue to help keep things consistent.

I've also updated this website with a nice little change. When reading the Patreon Updates, you can now quickly access any of the ten latest exclusive vlogs via the sidebar. This is a great shortcut (and reminder) if you've missed a vlog or two and you're looking to catch up. Simply click the thumbnail of your choice and you'll be taken to the corresponding vlog on Patreon.

And speaking of vlogs, how does early access to "Seaside Heights 2017" sound? Yeah, I realize July isn't exactly here yet, but at least it's something to look forward to. Just like with any of my other holiday/vacation videos, patrons will get first dibs.

Patreon Update: April 2017

Welcome to my Patreon Update for April 2017. This is the monthly report for my Patreon campaign and how it's performing, as well as my chance to thank everyone for their ongoing support.

Let's get started with last month's earnings. Below you can see my transparency report regarding all the pledges that were received and processed for March.

March 2017 Earnings

Going into March, much like advertising revenue, month-to-month earnings are slightly down. However, this can be viewed as perfectly normal, so I don't think it's a call for concern just yet.

  • Pledged: $3,626.00
  • Service Fees: $417.33
  • Processed: $3,208.67

Pledge amounts shown for the current month are not final.

Updates

Month-to-month earnings may be on a slight decline at the moment, but I don't see this turning into a serious concern at any point in the near future. Post-holidays numbers are typically low within the first few months. And besides, if you compare numbers to this time last year, you'll see that my Patreon campaign continues to perform quite well. It's generating $1,000+ in overall increased pledges.

In an effort to keep my campaign feeling new, I refreshed its website recently with a few interesting tweaks. The first noticeable difference is an all-new homepage, which I think does a nice job at explaining what my Patreon campaign is all about and how it can benefit new patrons — including a sneak peek at rewards that can be claimed when pledging.

Another thing that you may have noticed immediately is the addition of testimonials from actual patrons. A few of these testimonials can be seen on the new homepage, but the entire collection resides on its own Testimonials page. I would like to extend a huge thank-you to those who took the time to make this possible. If you're interested in submitting your own testimonial, you can do so here. Your support is appreciated!

And finally, the website in general is cleaner and easier to navigate. This especially applies to the Patrons Showcase, which is quickly filling up with $10+ patrons. As additional patrons join the showcase, I will be sure to accommodate space and be sure they receive their promised exposure. Every click counts, right?

And just like that, another Patreon Update comes to a close. If anyone has ideas on how I can continue to improve my Patreon campaign, please do not hesitate to comment below or email me. Every bit of feedback helps!

Patreon Update: March 2017

Welcome to my Patreon Update for March 2017. This is the monthly report for my Patreon campaign and how it's performing, as well as my chance to thank everyone for their ongoing support.

Let's get started with last month's earnings. Below you can see my transparency report regarding all the pledges that were received and processed for February.

February 2017 Earnings

While there was a slight drop in overall earnings since last time, February was still an amazing month for my Patreon campaign. Take a look at the numbers:

  • Pledged: $3,650.00
  • Service Fees: $421.97
  • Processed: $3,228.03

Pledge amounts shown for the current month are not final.

Updates

The beginning of a new year is always a rough time for content creators, and it's no different for those with a Patreon campaign. While a month-to-month decrease after the holidays is perfectly normal, I am still very pleased with how well my campaign continues to perform. Bringing in just over $3,200 after fees, I can proudly say that Patreon consistently generates more income than I receive on YouTube. Factor in how that compares to traditional advertising revenue and you will quickly realize how truly significant Patreon is as a platform.

So, what's been going on since last month? Quite a lot, actually.

March 3rd saw the release of the 100th patrons-only vlog, which can be viewed here. While I didn't put together a montage like I normally would, I did manage to do something even better. Alongside the vlog's release, I debuted an entirely new website — one that is solely dedicated to my Patreon campaign and all the content it currently offers. From the exclusive vlogs to the all-new Patrons Showcase, I think patrons will like what they see.

Creating the website also makes discovering my content much easier than it previously was. Rather than having to rely on Patreon.com, patrons can now freely look around on the new website and find anything that grabs their interest. This is especially useful with the Exclusive Vlogs page, which is conveniently broken down by year of release. Easy, right?

This new website is something I am very proud of. The idea is simple, but I believe the execution could be huge. It's going to be interesting to see what kind of impact it has on my campaign's performance. And of course, this is only the beginning. I am looking forward to rolling out new content and features over time.

That's it! Another Patreon Update is in the books. Please know that your support is always appreciated. It never goes unnoticed!

Patreon Update: February 2017

Welcome to my Patreon Update for February 2017. This is the monthly report for my Patreon campaign and how it's performing, as well as my chance to thank everyone for their ongoing support.

As always, let's get started with last month's earnings. Below you can see my transparency report regarding all the pledges that were received and processed for January.

January 2017 Earnings

Jumping into 2017, January was another incredible month for my Patreon campaign. Take a look at the latest numbers:

  • Pledged: $3,760.00
  • Service Fees: $427.33
  • Processed: $3,332.67

Pledge amounts shown for the current month are not final.

Updates

Considering the holiday season wrapped up not too long ago, earnings are actually looking really good. There is typically a steep drop-off at the beginning of the year, but my campaign's performance remains strong — which makes me quite happy! It gives me faith moving forward, especially given the plans that I have in mind for the coming months.

Remember the Patreon website project I briefly mentioned in my "2017: Year of Community" post? Well, I'm excited to announce that its progress is underway! I'm not exactly ready to share details yet, but the website should be completed within just a couple weeks. What better way to commemorate the release of my 100th patrons-only vlog?

In other news, have you checked out the Patrons Showcase? It's a new Patreon perk that I introduced alongside the redesign of my personal website. Patrons who pledge at least $10/month can use this list to promote any link of their choice. Consider it affordable advertising.

But that's not all. Patrons can expect additional forms of exposure with the introduction of my Patreon website. Creating this website is going to significantly expand my options in regards to what I can do with my campaign, as well as the benefits that patrons can take advantage of. Needless to say, I'm excited.

Stay tuned for plenty more updates in the coming days.
